Vilana

VARIETY: Vilana 100%. Vilana is an indigenous grape variety of Crete cultivated in Heraklio area.

GRAPE ORIGIN: Vilana grapes come from our oldest, 30 years old, privately owned vineyard, Kremnolia at an altitude of 350 meters with clay-loamy soil.
The vineyard is located at Vorias (meaning north wind) area, Monofatsi, Heraklio, Crete.
The yield is about 7000kg/ha.

VINIFICATION: Vilana grapes were harvested at night of 29th of August so they had the natural temperature of the night. Cold maceration took place for 6 hours and yeasts were added to initiate fermentation that lasted 18 days at low temperatures. The wine was cold stabilized and filtered before bottling.

PRODUCTION: 26000 bottles were made in 2022

TASTING NOTES: Crystal white color, aromatic complexity of citrus and exotic fruits. Fruity taste with delicious acidity and minerality.
